Picture
What is Indian head massage?

Indian head massage is a form of massage of the head neck and shoulders derived from the Indian ayurvedic tradition created in India thousands of years ago. The aim of the massage is to release any tension that is being held in these areas and in doing so rebalancing the energies. We spend so much time thinking, so this treatment can really help to calm the mind; it is deeply relaxing and calming. Indian head massage is especially good for relieving stress, tension, insomnia, headaches, migraine and sinusitis. Clients report that the experience is extremely calming and relaxing, leaving them feeling energised and revitalised and better able to concentrate.

A range of different techniques is used to release tension and create a sense of total relaxation and well being. It helps to relieve muscular discomfort and tension as well as enhancing the senses and promoting clear thinking.

Starting at the upper back the treatment begins by applying pressure to points that dissolve knots and relax the muscles. The shoulder and upper arms are massaged as these are common areas of tension, and then onto the neck and head to release headache-causing blockages and to encourage better circulation. The massage then continues to the scalp, relaxing the entire head, encouraging circulation and stimulating hair growth. Lastly a gentle face massage which is wonderfully relaxing and may relieve symptoms of sinusitis & headaches, it also encourages good circulation and a glowing complexion similar to that of our natural lift facial massage.
